1 person hurt after a two-vehicle collision on I-5 in Ferndale (Ferndale, WA)

On Monday, one person was hurt following a rollover crash in Ferndale.

As per the initial information, the two-vehicle collision took place on I-5, between the W Smith Road overpass and the Main Street interchange at around 9:30 a.m. The early reports showed that a vehicle was drifting between lanes while northbound on I-5. Responders had received calls from citizens reporting a blue Jeep Liberty SUV was driving erratically in the northbound lanes.

Approximately 10 minutes later, they received reports that the vehicle had crashed. Reports further added that the Jeep was in the left lane when it crashed into semi-truck and swerved off the roadway into the median. On arrival, medics took the driver of the Jeep to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center through a medic unit under advanced life support (ALS) protocols with minor injuries.

No criminal charges are pending at this time. Northbound traffic through the crash scene was reduced to one lane until approximately 10:15am. Southbound traffic continued to be down to a single lane until 10:30am while the vehicle was retrieved from the median. No other details are available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
