Jimmy Carr, one of the biggest comedians in the world, is returning to Australia for a headline tour next year.

The comedian’s ‘Terribly Funny’ tour will kick off in Melbourne on February 17th 2023, and visit 18 stops around the country before finishing in Gold Coast on May 4th 2023. Tickets go on sale on Monday, June 27th at 9am via bohmpresents.com.

As the press release puts it, ‘Terribly Funny’ “contains jokes about all kinds of terrible things. Terrible things that might have affected you or people you know and love. But they’re just jokes – they are not the terrible things. Jokes are little lies. Nothing more than wonderful, funny, joyful tricks, constructed from language.”

There’s really no introduction needed for Carr. As host of beloved panel shows 8 Out of 10 Cats and Big Fat Quiz of the Year, the comedian has been a mainstay on U.K. television screens for two decades.

On the stand-up circuit, he’s proved just as popular, winning the British Comedy Award for Best Live Stand-Up Tour and performing 10 sell-out tours around the world. His most recent stand-up, His Dark Material, was the most-streamed on Netflix in the U.K. in 2021. As the press release continues, “there’s no point to the show, save for to make the audience laugh.”
