John Ray Cooper, 68, of Russellville, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at the Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He was born in Cincinnati on April 23, 1954 to Matthew Thomas Cooper Jr. and Betty Carrier Cooper. He was a U.S. Army veteran and an independent contractor for the United States Postal Service. He attended Post Oak Baptist Church and was a member of the Logan County Chamber of Commerce.

He is survived by his mother, Betty Cooper of Mt. Orab, Ohio; his wife of 45 years, Cindy Cooper; his son, Douglas John Cooper and wife Elizabeth of Lewisburg; his daughters, Julie Marie Forsythe and husband Michael of Princeton, and Lisa Ann Cropper of Russellville; his sisters, Jackie Norris and husband Bill of Mt. Orab and Peggy Shoemake of Williamsburg, Ohio; his special nieces, Jessica Appling and husband Ricky Jr. of Russellville, Kara Ross and husband Josh of Adairville and Taylor Weaver and husband Dylan of Columbia, Mo.; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services for John Ray Cooper will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 20, at Summers and Son Funeral Home with Bro. Nick Stamps officiating with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home on Monday will be held from 11 a.m. until the service hour.

Memorial donations may be made to the Gideons. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
