Falcons fans, it’s about that time! I know we all have been waiting patiently, counting down the days until our beloved Dirty Birds take the field for another season. After a less-than-stellar 2021 season that ended with a 7-10 record, good enough for third in the division, I think it’s safe to say that anticipation for the 2022-2023 season is at an all-time high.
It’s a new era of Falcons football. Matt Ryan, arguably the greatest quarterback in franchise history, was traded in Indianapolis in March. GM Terry Fontenot and HC Arthur Smith are both in their second year with the team and it’s evident that they are putting the pieces in place to stay competitive in a tough NFC South. Bringing in veteran QB Marcus Mariota, drafting WR Drake London and QB Desmond Ridder shows that there is a clear plan for this team moving forward.
Now it’s time to see what these guys can actually bring to the field and you can be there in person! Over the weekend, the Atlanta Falcons announced that the 2022 AT&T Atlanta Falcons Training Camp will have 13 open practice dates with 12 being held at IBM Performance Field in Flowery Branch and one at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Open practices begin on July 29th, practice on July 30 will give you the opportunity to hear from HC Arthur Smith and GM Terry Fontenot with appearances from Falcons legends, Freddie Falcon and the Falcons cheerleaders. Flowery Branch will also host the first joint practices for the Falcons since 2014 when they host the Jacksonville Jaguars on August 24th &25th.
