Bethune holds football fundraiser

On April 24 the Bethune Bobcats football team and Bobcat Booster Club held a benefit dinner.
Thanks to the assistance of James and Reena Thomas of Spices on the Green in Burlington for providing and cooking the meal, as well as the utilization of their restaurant space to hold the dinner. They made the event happen.
This benefit dinner was not only fundamental in providing much-needed funds for training and equipment for the team, but it was also pivotal in building school, community, and county support for the Bobcats.
This means everything to the Bobcat football team. Various donations piled in to make a silent auction a reality. This added to the funds of the dinner proceeds.
There has not been a varsity football program in six years in the Bobcat world. The last time a varsity team hit the field in Bethune was in 2016.
There will be roughly 11 players who will take the field this season, (for six-man football) and they are eager to make this a memorable year.
The current head coach, Andrew Ledesma, is excited and looking forward to a productive winning season for his team.
A big shout out to all that made this endeavor possible for the Bethune Bobcat football team!
