Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalfe, who plays Mercedes McQueen on the show, has called for the return of Silas Blissett (Jeff Rawle).
In an interview with Inside Soap, she stated that ever since the reveal that Wendy had been secretly sent to the village by her father Silas to carry out his wishes, she has been hoping for him to return to the show.
"If he comes back, I'll be over the moon!" she said. "Jeff Rawle, who plays him, is amazing, and the dynamic between Silas and Mercedes is brilliant. I don't know if that's the plan, but I hope it is as much as the viewers."

She also spoke about the revelation that Bobby (Jayden Fox) had been exchanging messages with Silas and the terror this strikes in her: "She confronts him and asks outright if 'G' is Silas – and is horrified when he says it is!"
She warns him of the dangers of his grandad, but is it already too late as Silas holds Bobby firmly in his grasp?
In the show, Mercedes indulged her son Bobby’s wish to stay in their newfound cellar for a while, which is where she came to notice Bobby's gift for playing chess. When she asked him how he got so good at it, however, Bobby simply said that he'd been practising and Mercedes didn't question it. Later on, it is revealed that Bobby’s chess partner is none other than his serial killer grandad.

Silas was last seen in the village back in early 2021, with his final scenes setting up this next stage when he called Bobby on the phone and sent him a chess app.
Talking about how her character reacts to the reveal, Metcalfe said: "She warns Bobby to stay away from his grandad, and she tells the police that Silas is sniffing around again, Mercedes is desperate to protect her son from him."
Will Silas return to the show like viewers (and Metcalfe) have been hoping?
