Comedian Rob Schneider will open the 2022 to 2023 season at the Performing Arts Center at Kent State Tuscarawas in New Philadelphia on Sept. 10.

NEW PHILADELPHIA — The Performing Arts Center of Kent State University at Tuscarawas has announced its 2022 to 2023 season.

The season starts with comedian Rob Schneider on Sept. 10.

Other highlights include the Blue Man Group Oct. 11 to 13, rock singer Richard Marx on Oct. 23, country singer Josh Turner on Jan. 13, classic rock act The Guess Who on Jan. 26 and country legends the Oak Ridge Boys on March 19. 

The Queen's Cartoonists will be there on Oct. 8, the Frontmen on Oct. 29, Beyond Glory on Nov. 3, One Night in Memphis on Nov. 8, OkCello on Nov. 12, the Arena Rock Show on Nov. 19 and Celtic Woman on Dec. 13.

The Oak Ridge Boys will be appearing at the Performing Arts Center in New Philadelphia on March 19, 2023.

For 2023, the schedule includes Dena Blizzard on Jan. 7, Dragons and Mythical Beasts on Jan. 28, a Celebration of of Soul with Heidi Burson on Feb. 9, Una Sera featuring Alla Boara on Feb. 11, Riverdance from Feb. 28 to March 2, Girl Named Tom on March 16, Yesterday and Today: The Interactive Beatles Experience on March 25, Yamato: The Drummers of Japan on April 11, m-pact on April 25, Church Basement Ladies on April 26 and Potted Potter on April 28.

Two free shows will be Sounds of the Season on Dec. 21, featuring music from area choirs, and Family Revealed: A Story of History and Hope on Feb. 21 with storyteller and and songwriter Reggie Harris.  

“Over the past year, as we welcomed world-class artists and our fantastic audiences back into our beloved Performing Arts Center, we began to feel a real sense of forward momentum,” said Brad Bielski, dean and chief administrative officer of Kent State Tuscarawas. “This is entirely to the credit of our faithful patrons, volunteers and supporters who have ensured a successful return to live performances. With the announcement of our 22 to 23 Season, it’s time to carry that momentum into the future.”

Riverdance will be at the Performing Arts Center at Kent State Tuscarawas from Feb. 28 to March 2, 2023.

Una Sera Italiana, featuring Italian folk music, will also have the center's lobby transformed into an Italian piazza with authentic Italian cuisine paired with Italian wine. 

OkCello, an American cellist and songwriter, m-pact, a post and jazz vocal group, will offer free workshops to local high school students on their performance days. One can register at kent.edu/tuscpac/education-community.

“At the Performing Arts Center, we believe students in our community deserve to experience the transformative power of the arts,” said PAC general manager David Mitchell. “Offering workshops is a vital part of this educational effort by connecting students with touring artists."

Discounted tickets are available through pre-sale packages of four shows or more starting June 23. Single show ticket sales begin June 27.
