UPDATE: The Hutchinson Fire Department of Kansas have sent out four of their own crew members to help southern Colorado with the Black Hills Fire.
UPDATE: OCSO now says the fire is estimated at 2,000 acres in size. and is now designated the Black Hills Fire.
OTERO COUNTY, Colo. — The Otero County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) is reporting a wildland fire burning on Piñon Canyon Maneuver site.
OCSO said heavy smoke was blowing into Otero County from the south, and reports said flames were visible from Highway 350.
