2 women found dead in Breathitt County, police investigating

BREATHITT COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) is conducting a death investigation in Breathitt County.

KSP received a call at around 9:57 p.m. on Wednesday regarding two women, Brenda Mullins, 77, of Jackson, and Sharon White, 76, of Lost Creek, found dead in a residence on Mcintosh Road in the Lost Creek community.

An initial investigation showed one of the two women started a vehicle parked in the garage below the residence. Troopers said both women appeared to have died from carbon monoxide poisoning.

The Breathitt County Coroner’s Office declared both women dead at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled for both women and foul play is not suspected.
