Worth Township minibike crash sends 65-year-old to hospital

A little too much to drink and a need for speed Tuesday night sent a 65-year-old Southfield man to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after he crashed his minibike motorcycle.

The crash, which occurred on Grove Road near Woodside Drive in Worth Township, was determined to occur when the man was traveling south on Grove Road on his minibike when he lost control and drove into a ditch. He was not wearing a helmet when he crashed.

Sanilac County Sheriff Deputies received the dispatch call at about 8:00 p.m., with Croswell EMS assisting to transport the man to McLaren Hospital. Also at the scene were Lexington Fire Rescue and Lexington Police Department.
