Federal officials say Jeremy Kinney, 48, is charged with possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of meth mixture, possession of a firearm in planning of a drug trafficking crime, and felon in possession of a firearm.
An arrest affidavit says a state trooper tried to pull over Kinney last month in Furnas County, but he sped away. Eventually authorities were able to stop the chase.
Kinney had faced state charges out of Furnas County of possession of more than 140 grams of meth, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of a firearm while committing a felony, tampering with physical evidence, operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest, possession of drug money, no drug tax stamp, willful reckless driving (second offense), possession of more than an ounce of marijuana and driving under suspension.
The state charges were dismissed Wednesday after Kinney was indicted on federal charges.
His next court date not listed. If convicted officials said Kinney could face up to life in federal prison.
