Rep. Tony Lovasco and 48 Members of The General Assembly request U.S. Senator Roy Blunt withdraw support from Red Flag Legislation

O’FALLON, MO – State Representative Tony Lovasco (District 64) announced Wednesday an official letter sent to U.S. Senator Roy Blunt requesting that he immediately and publicly withdraw support from proposed legislation encouraging the passage of Red Flag laws or other forms of gun control.

The letter, sent with the support of 48 members of the Missouri General Assembly, outlines the perils of allowing taxpayer funds to be used to incentivize States to pass gun confiscation laws. While it was noted that the Missouri Legislature has a history of rejecting such measures, the letter indicated “many other states will not have such resolve” and expressed the proposed legislation would “further normalize support for the eventual disarmament of this nation.”

The Representative specified that “not all aspects” of the proposal were objectionable, however nonetheless gun control should not be advanced “no matter how small or indirect it may seem.”
