In Response

Dear Editor,

In response to Ralph Lucero's clearing up the facts letter.

The fact is that the County receives the majority/bulk of its money from property taxes received from the City of Grants and the Village of Milan. This is what I said, not as Lucero puts it "the County gets all its money from the City."

I appreciate Lucero listing all the funding agreements the County has, as I have accessed agreements with some of these entities to complete projects within the City. Example; removing salt cedars along the Rio San Jose. It should also be noted that most of these agreements are outdated and underfunded, for instance $30,000 dollars to the Animal Care Center, when this Facility is a million dollar operation. Just a couple of examples.

Sincerely,

Martin W. Hicks "Modey" Former Mayor of Grants, Candidate for County Commission
