Lolita Suzanne Taylor was born May 10, 1944 at Ainsworth, NE to Ulyse and Lucille Lambley. She passed away June 3, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE at the age of 78.

Lolita grew up in Ainsworth, NE as the only sister to three older brothers. She graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1962. On June 16, 1962 she married Jerry Taylor at the Congregational Church in Ainsworth and they made their home on the Taylor Ranch northwest of Stuart, NE. In 1967 they were blessed with the arrival of their son Todd Thomas.

Ranch life was hard work for the family, but they always made time for things they enjoyed. Many days were spent with Lolita’s brothers or other family in a pickup loaded with dogs in pursuit of a coyote. Any family vacations were most certainly planned around a horse show somewhere. Jim Brinkman (Howard Pitzer’s grandson) of Pitzer Ranch of Ericson, NE showed and made AQHA companions of two horses owned by the Taylors, Watch Joe Speedy and Jackie Joe Sizzler, who was Lolita’s prize mare.

Lolita always enjoyed a good card game or just sitting and visiting with friends. Later in life, Jerry and Lolita attempted semi-retirement and moved to Bassett, NE, but ranching was their life and they eventually returned to the ranch.

Lolita was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; parents, Ulyse and Lucille Lambley; and brothers, Tommy and Herris Lambley. She is survived by her son, Todd (Julie) Taylor of Long Pine, NE; brother, Gary (LaVella) Lambley of Burke, SD; granddaughters, Cassie (Tyler) Craven of Gordon, NE and Tara Taylor of Omaha, NE; great-granddaughters, Stormy and Dolly; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 14th at 11:00 a.m. at Seger Funeral Home in Stuart, NE. Burial was in the Stuart Community Cemetery.
