The Akron Volunteer Fire Department is stocked up for the summer months. Equitable Savings and Loan coordinated a ‘Hydrate Our Heroes’ campaign, collecting cases of water and Gatorade for the local department. From May 20 through June 10, 12 cases of water and 15 eight-packs of Gatorade were donated by generous members of the community. Last Friday, June 10, members of the AVFD picked up the drinks from the bank. Pictured left to right are Steve Vasquez, AVFD; Jamie McCord, Equitable Savings and Loan; and Allen Scholes, AVFD.
