Clarksdale defensive back Kelley Jones commits to Mississippi State football

STARKVILLE — Mississippi State football has another addition to its secondary after Kelley Jones' commitment Wednesday afternoon.

The defensive back is part of Mike Leach's 2023 class that gained Leflore County safety Dante Kelly earlier this week.

Jones (6-foot-4, 195 pounds) joins MSU out of Clarksdale High School. He's the sixth commitment for State's upcoming class and fifth from Mississippi. Jones does not have a rating from 247Sports. 

Mississippi State has three offensive commitments: Bay Springs running back Ty Jones, Katy (Texas) running back Seth Davis, and Laurel offensive tackle Malik Ellis.

Holmes County Central edge Joseph Head joins Kelley Jones and Kelly defensively. 

Kelly is the No. 24 recruit in the state, according to the 247Sports Composite. Ty Jones is No. 7, Ellis is No. 11 and Head is No. 16. Davis is the No. 35 running back in the country.
