LAMAR TOWNSHIP, PA – State police from the Lamar barracks have posted an updated report on a domino-effect collision of five vehicles Monday evening on Interstate 80 in Greene Township.

The report is 15 pages long and police said their investigation is ongoing.

The report said the accident occurred in the westbound lanes in an advanced warning area of a construction zone. The crash occurred, police said, when a rig operated by Mirazim Ayubov, 29, from Brooklyn, NY rear-ended a second rig which had slowed down for a construction backlog. A chain reaction crash followed with the second rig striking the rear of a fully loaded commercial bus with 55 passengers; the bus then rear-ended another rig and that rig was pushed into another rig.

Mirzod Ayubov, 55, was a passenger in the Ayubov rig and sustained fatal injuries; the driver, Mirazim Ayubov, police said, suffered suspected serious injuries and was transported to UPMC Williamsport. The operator of the rig which had slowed, Brandon Edwards Wacht, 29, from Scottsville, KY was taken to UPMC Lock Haven for treatment of suspected minor injuries. Police said two individuals seated in the bus sustained minor injuries; the bus occupants all had Ohio addresses. No other injuries were reported.
