CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — A Virginia driver is facing multiple charges following a deadly Monday night crash involving a pedestrian in Charlotte County.

Virginia State Police say they responded to the crash shortly before 8 p.m. on Monday, June 13 in the 3200 block of Oak Hill Road (Route 710).

According to authorities, a 2013 Dodge Dart hit a pedestrian walking against traffic on the right edge of Oak Hill Road.

Officials say there were no sidewalks available along the road.

The pedestrian — identified by police as 56-year-old Francesca Guill of Drakes Branch — died at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the Dart — 21-year-old Amyah S. Perkins from Prospect — was reportedly wearing a seatbelt and was not injured in the incident.

However, authorities say Perkins was charged with driving under the influence of drugs (DUI), DUI manslaughter, and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

As of Wednesday, June 15, Virginia State Police are still investigating this deadly crash.
