12 SLV track athletes named All-State by CHSAA

ALAMOSA – The Colorado High School Activities Association released its 2022 All-State track and field teams for both boys and girls.

A total of 12 track athletes from the San Luis Valley received All-State honors.

Sanford had the most All-State athletes in Class 1A with eight – four boys and four girls.

Kelton Gartrell and Gauge Lewis were All-State in individual events as they were individual state champions in the 200 and 100 meters, respectively.

Both were also All-State in relay events as they, along with Cash Caldon and Lincoln Reynolds, earned honors in both the 4x100 and 4x200.

Four Sanford girls were All-State in both the 4x400- and 4x800-meter relays. The list includes Asia Caldon, Riley Canty, Haley Faucette and Erica Miller.

In Class 2A, Centauri had four individuals as Deven Brady, Mason Claunch, Ben Tailleur and Richardson Tailleur earned All-State honors in the 4x100- and 4x200-meter relays.
