The Emery Lady Spartans finished the season with a 16-9 overall record and a 5-3 Region 12 mark. Listed in the top 5 all season long, the Spartans were due to get some post season accolades.  Tylee Norton, Cambrie Jensen, Brooklynn Ekker and Madisyn Childs all landed on the All-State list for softball.

Tylee Norton earned a first team nod playing the catcher position. The senior carried a .512 batting average with an .845 slugging percentage, six home runs and 35 RBI’s while maintaining a .986 fielding percentage behind the plate.

Cambrie Jensen, a senior who pitched and played second and short stop made the 2nd team list for the Lady Spartans. Jemsen had a .367 BA, with a .493 OBP. On the mound she earned a 4.48 ERA, 35 strikeouts and a 5-2 record.

Brooklynn Ekker, a sophomore shortstop for the Lady Spartans, was also named to the second team. In her 2022 campaign, Ekker was second on the team in batting average with .468. She also worked her way to a .494 on-base-percentage.

Senior Madisyn Childs, who pitched and played first base, earned her second consecutive Honorable Mention. Childs posted a 5.90 ERA on the mound. She also posted a .982 fielding percentage.

The 3A-All State selections were voted on by the coaches throughout the classification. The Deseret News named Riverton’s Kaysen Korth Player of the Year.
