Greene County budget raises employee salaries to be competitive

SNOW HILL — The Greene County Board of Commissioners approved a spending plan this month that raised salaries to at least 97 percent of the market rate for all positions with a 4-1 vote.

Commissioner Susan Blizzard was the lone opponent to the proposed 2022-23 fiscal year budget because she was concerned the board did not have enough information regarding salaries to give a final OK at the June 6 meeting.
