A man has been sentenced to jail and probation on a charge related to the ongoing Furnas County sex trafficking case.
Rowdy Baxter, 64, was sentenced Tuesday in Furnas County District Court to 90 days in jail and 5 years probation on one count of committing intentional child abuse negligently-no injury. He was given credit for 22 days served in jail.
In March, Baxter pled no contest to one count of committing child abuse intentionally with no injury. In exchange for his plea, prosecutors reduced a charge of first-degree sexual assault of a child to committing child abuse intentionally with no injury. An additional count of first-degree sexual assault of a child was dismissed.
An affidavits in the cases is sealed, but a complaint says the case involved a minor between the age of 12 and 16. The victim is the same one involved in the other Furnas County sex trafficking cases.
