Convicted felon Tadd Sherwood, 35, is locked-up in the Otsego County jail.  Authorities allege Sherwood pointed a gun at a victim during a dispute and then fired a shot in the victim’s direction.  Otsego County sheriff’s deputies said no one was injured in the incident, according to a statement acquired by CNY News.

Sherwood was arrested and charged with multiple felonies including criminal possession of a loaded firearm, menacing, and criminal possession of a weapon following a pervious felony conviction.   As a convicted felon Sherwood is not allowed to possess weapons.

This is not Sherwood’s first rodeo.

In May 2021 he was re-arrested while incarcerated in the Otsego jail for violating an order of protection — not once, but 19 times. He “continuously contacted the protected party,” according to a statement made by authorities at the time.

And back in June 2016, Sherwood was busted following an investigation into illegal drug sales.  State police found 110 bags of heroin, hundreds of dollars in cash, drug paraphernalia, marijuana plants, and a cache of weapons. Authorities discovered five shotguns, four rifles, a large stash of ammunition, and three daggers.

The Oneonta resident could be facing up to 15 years in state prison if convicted of the most serious charges.
