Dierks PD getting a new truck

The Dierks Police Department is getting a new vehicle.  Police Chief John McKee told the city council Monday that he has a chance to purchase a 2022 Chevrolet truck with four wheel drive capabilities.  McKee said the last vehicle purchased by the department was in 2016.  The truck would replace a pickup that’s currently being driven by the chief.  He said his current truck has 120,000 miles and needs an engine replacement.  Council members approved McKee’s request of the new truck purchase, with a cost of $43,859 dollars from the York Gary Autoplex in Nashville.

Council members also voted to allow the police department to spend around five thousand dollars on the purchase of a new engine for the department’s existing truck.  It will be used by the school resource officer.
