I want to say thank you to my incredible family, rooting for me and helping out in every way they could. Especially I am so proud that my kids and husband spent this entire day at the polls greeting voters with such enthusiasm."“Thank you also to the amazing volunteers who showed up by the dozens, notably including Harpswell Indivisible, March 4th, and so many people who stepped up to help out after hearing about this campaign. If the voters elect me in November, I am prepared for the hard work ahead, and look forward to securing the common sense and pragmatic policies that reflect the values of our County and deliver the criminal justice reforms we promised in this campaign.”Sahrbeck released a statement following his concession saying, “I’ve reached out to congratulate Jackie Sartoris in receiving the nomination from the Democratic Party for Cumberland County District Attorney.” “While ultimately the outcome was not what my supporters and I wanted, I’m proud of the campaign we ran and the work we’ve accomplished together. As she officially moves into the role in the coming months, I will assist Jackie in the transition to ensure the best possible outcome for the people of Cumberland County.”Sahrbeck was elected DA as an independent in 2018 after Democratic frontrunner Jon Gale dropped out of the race. He registered as a Democrat this year. The race was defined in part by the advertisements run by the Maine Justice and Public Safety PAC portraying Sahrbeck as a “flip flopper.” Sahrbeck had pushed back on those claims, saying that his record aligns with the Democratic party and progressive values. No Republicans or independent candidates filed to run for District Attorney, meaning that as things stand, Sartoris would run unopposed in November.CUMBERLAND COUNTY | SAGADAHOC COUNTY | ADROSCOGGIN COUNTY | KENNEBEC COUNTY | WALDO COUNTY | PENOBSCOT COUNTY | HANCOCK COUNTY | AROOSTOOK COUNTY | YORK COUNTY Results will begin to appear after polls close at 8 p.m. Tuesday.**App Users: Tap here for results | Don't have our app?
