Former West Harrison teacher charged with sexually exploiting students

Investigators with the Harrison County Sheriff's office believe a former West Harrison Schools teacher had inappropriate contact with six students.
The sheriff's office says Benjamin T. Work was arrested June 10 at home.
Work is charged with five felony counts of Sexual Exploitation by a School Employee. He's also charged with 5 misdemeanor counts of Lascivious Conduct with a Minor and 2 misdemeanor counts of Indecent Contact with a Child.
Sheriff's investigators say the case against Work began with a tip to the sheriff's office on April 22. The sheriff's office says Work was placed on administrative leave by the school district the same day.
Through the course of the investigation, the sheriff's office says it discovered Work had inappropriate contact with 6 minor students, from last fall until this spring. Agents with Iowa's Division of Criminal Investigation were also part of the investigation.
The sheriff's office says Work resigned from the school district on June 3. Law enforcement arrested him at his home June 10.
