Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky will visit Alabama to campaign for Congressman Mo Brooks in the Republican primary runoff for U.S. Senate.

The Brooks campaign announced that Paul, Republican of Kentucky, will headline two townhall events on Friday in Homewood and Huntsville.

Paul in March became the first sitting member of the Senate to endorse Brooks in the race, saying in part, “Mo has proven time and time again he will stand up for liberty and do what he thinks is right.”

Brooks faces off with Katie Britt in the GOP primary runoff on June 21. The winner will face Democrat Will Boyd in the general election this November.

Brooks’ campaign announced the events on Friday, just hours before former President Donald Trump said he was endorsing Britt in the runoff. Trump called Britt “a fearless America First Warrior” in his endorsement announcement Friday night.

Trump initially endorsed Brooks but withdrew his support after claiming the conservative congressman became “woke” by telling a rally crowd to move past the 2020 election.

The Brooks town halls with Paul will be free and open to the public. The first event will be at noon at the Valley Hotel in Homewood. The second event will be at 3 p.m. at the Four Points By Sheraton hotel in Huntsville.
