Elnora Burdick, 98, of Redfield

REDFIELD — Elnora Burdick, 98, of Redfield, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord Thursday, June 9, 2022, at the Eastern Star Nursing Home in Redfield.  


Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. with family present, on Sunday at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Redfield.  


A Prayer Service, Time of Sharing, and Rosary will follow at 7 p.m.


Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. Reverend John Short will officiate. Lunch and fellowship will follow the service and a private family burial will take place later in the day in Huron.

Elnora was born in Cavour to Carl and Ella Kauth. She attended Cavour Elementary, Huron High School, and Cosmetology School.  


On May 18, 1946, she married Steve Burdick in Huron, and to this union five children were born.  She was a farm wife and later a foster grandparent for eight years. She enjoyed doing 4-H with her children, traveling, and visiting family. She started painting oil pictures at age 70, which she gifted to family and friends.  


She was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and the Beadle County Extension Club.


Elnora is survived by her children: Don (Judy), Sue (Mark) Tokach, Jim (Deborah), Gerry (Julie); and daughter-in-law, Lucy. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Steve; son, Eugene; grandson, Thomas; and six siblings.
