Sheets, 26, is hitting .204 with four homers, 10 RBIs and a .597 OPS in 44 games this season.
In a corresponding move, Chicago recalled right-hander Jimmy Lambert from Triple-A. He has a 5.14 ERA in seven innings for the White Sox this season. He has a 9.24 ERA in 12 2/3 innings at Triple-A.
The White Sox host the Rangers on Friday evening at Guaranteed Rate Field in the opener of a three-game series.
