CLEVELAND — Former Cleveland Mayor Frank G. Jackson's great-grandson appeared in court Friday morning for his arraignment on charges related to the shooting death of a man last month.
The hearing for Donald Jackson-Gates comes three days after the Cleveland Division of Police issued an arrest warrant against him for aggravated murder. allegedly shot Chris'Shon Coleman in the 2300 block of East 40th Street at around 3:15 a.m. back on May 14.
Previously, Jackson-Gates had been arrested and charged for other crimes, including gang activity, in 2019. At the time, he had been charged as a juvenile.

Bond was not settled during today's hearing, as prosecutors asked for a delay due to a lead detective on the case being out with an injury. Despite protests from the defense, Jackson-Gates will be held without bail in the Cuyahoga County Jail until at least Monday.
