One of the biggest winners of the 2022 NFL Draft was the Philadelphia Eagles. They used their draft capital to maneuver around the board masterfully, while also continuing to stockpile their selections in future drafts.

Arguably their biggest move was the trade that they made with the Tennessee Titans. Philadelphia sent the No. 18 and 101 picks to the Titans in exchange for star wide receiver, A.J. Brown.

It was a move that shocked a lot of people. All of the focus coming into the draft was on Deebo Samuel of the San Francisco 49ers, who was also picked in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft like Brown. Brown’s trade request had some more quietly, as the Titans lowballed him and he ended up with the Eagles, agreeing to a four-year, $100 million contract as part of the deal.

Brown will help bolster a passing attack that has been anemic in recent seasons for the Eagles. They had missed on wide receivers in 2019 and 2020, taking J.J. Arcega-Whiteside over D.K. Metcalf and Jalen Reagor over Justin Jefferson. But, they got it right in 2021 with DeVonta Smith and this year with Brown.

Jalen Hurts is the big winner, as he now has a strong group of skill position players around him. In addition to the new wide receiver duo, he has Dallas Goedert at tight end with Miles Sanders, Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott at running back.

Despite being new, Brown has wasted no time making Eagles fans smile by trash-talking some Dallas Cowboys. While at Smith’s charity softball game, Brown sent a message loud and clear to the reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year, Micah Parsons.

The rivalry between the Eagles and Cowboys seems to be alive and well. Philadelphia has lost three straight games to their NFC East rivals and Brown will be a big part of them attempting to snap that losing streak this upcoming season.
