Mark Rene Kilhoffer was born on December 1, 1957 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Bernard Micheal and Donna Jean Kilhoffer. He passed away peacefully on May 25, 2022 at home at the age of 64 years, 5 months and 24 days.

One of seven children, he grew up on the family farm south of Burns Flat and attended Burns Flat High School until his graduation in 1976.

Mark was also professionally trained in diesel mechanics and put his skills to use throughout a lifetime dedicated to independent farming and ranching.

Following in his father’s footsteps, he settled down near the family farm and worked on it tirelessly for over forty years, becoming an institution of the community known for miles around.

He began a loving marriage to his wife, Kristyn, on February 14, 2004. When time and the farm permitted, he treasured his family vacations and enjoyed spending time with his family in the garden, the shop, or on one of his countless outdoor projects.

A man of great faith, he was an eager volunteer for St. Matthew Catholic Church and Food Bank in Elk City and never failed to make God the solid foundation of his life.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard, his younger brother, Danny Paul Kilhoffer, and his first wife, Kimberly Files.

He is survived by his wife, Kristyn, and son, John, of the home; his mother, Donna Kilhoffer, an uncle, Johnny Johnson of Carter, and aunt, Janice (Kilhoffer) Jones of Edmond; two brothers, Timothy Kilhoffer of Dill City and Mike Kilhoffer and wife Monica of Edmond, and three sisters, Leann Black and husband Terry of Dill City, Valerie Fite and husband Ned of Burns Flat, and Linda Mell and her husband Brad of Edmond; nine nieces, seven nephews, and many other loving family members and close friends.

For all, his generous kindness and enduring smile will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
