Taking care of the citizens of Custer County, it's what Wade Anders has done nearly eight years as District 1 commissioner and he plans to continue that journey after the June 28 election.

"I started in January of2015. It's been really good and I've enjoyed it. I've had a lot of challenges, but that is the job and I've been through a lot of it. I've accomplished a lot and there still is more I want to accomplish," Anders said.

Whether it is road projects, community events, answering questions for citizens or connecting with locals, Anders looks out for the people of Custer County.

"I have a goal of completing upcoming projects. I want to get all of them started and see some of them finished because they are going to be long projects. By doing this it will allow money we have in our regular maintenance to do some of our off roads which are oil and chip roads. This is the reason I want to stay in office along with serving the people of Custer County. I also was elected to the Association of County Commissioners board and that is another reason I want to continue. I was elected to the board by 11 County Commissioners in Oklahoma. I love being involved in this job and it’s something I have to do,” Anders said.

Road projects have been at the top of the list for Anders as he aims to make roads as safe as possible for the citizens of Custer County. Although roads have been a priority for Anders, he has been a part of the beginning and completion of several other county projects.

“We have been able to fix and repair a lot of roads in Custer County, but with that we have been able to improve things at the court house and we have redone a lot of things on the inside. I’ve been able to work with a lot of road projects and county projects and there are a lot more projects to do,” Anders said.

If Anders is voted back into office he will make sure major road projects are completed in the county.

“People should vote for me because I have a lot of things in line and I have a job to make sure our roads are maintained and there are a lot more roads to maintain. By keeping me in office another term will improve a lot of major road projects and make sure these projects get completed,” Anders said.
