Chamber Chatter: Smithville chamber plans Fourth of July celebration, calls for volunteers

Special to the Smithville Times
Five students graduated from the Smithville Workforce Training Center's fourth certified nursing assistant graduation ceremony last week at the Smithville Recreation Center.

It’s almost time for Smithville’s July 4th celebration! We’ve been working with our partners — the VFW, the Partners of the Veteran’s Park, the city of Smithville and the First Baptist Church — to plan a big, fun-filled event celebrating our nation’s Independence Day. We are signing up volunteers now for two-hour shifts (all volunteers get a free t-shirt) so give us a call if you can help with the tournaments or beer booth or kid’s area, etc. Contact us if you’d like to sponsor, come as a vendor, be in the parade or join in the games: 512-237-2313.
