Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agents arrested a man in connection with a pedestrian crash that killed his brother-in-law in 2021.
Shortly before midnight on July 7, 2021, the Harper County Sheriff's Office responded to a report that a man was in the roadway of Jane Jayroe Boulevard in Laverne. A news release says it appeared that a vehicle hit the man.
Deputies learned that the victim and another man were involved in an altercation earlier in the day, the news release said. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol and OSBI agents determined that the collision happened after the altercation.
The Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office determined the victim died from injuries sustained in a crash involving a pedestrian.
OSBI agents arrested the suspect Monday on a felony warrant for second-degree murder and driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Authorities booked him into the Harper County Jail.
KOCO 5 has chosen not to release information about the suspect because charges have not been filed.
