Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson has spoken to the Jan. 6 House select committee in Washington for a second time.
The virtual conversation, which was taped on the record last week, is a follow-up to previous talk she and the state Bureau of Elections had with committee investigators, The Detroit News reports.
News of her conversation comes shortly before the committee's highly anticipated televised hearings begin Thursday night.
The House panel has gathered evidence from states where Republicans tried to overturn election results.
In January, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel said she had enough evidence to charge 16 Republicans who submitted a certificate falsely claiming Donald Trump had won Michigan’s electors in 2020, Bridge Michigan reported. She indicated at the time that she could bring charges if the feds don't.
