MOUNTAIN VIEW — Mountain View Elementary recently held its first annual Karen Abel Memorial Spelling Bee for fourth and fifth graders.
“Mrs. Abel was someone who loved teaching, and loved to celebrate academic success,” said Bi Erickson, MVE principal. “We utilized the format she used when she taught at Fort Bridger Elementary for this spelling bee. Fourteen students made it to the final round, which consisted of a written and verbal spelling portion. Although students were nervous for the verbal portion with family and friends in attendance, they all did a fabulous job.”
