Raymond Davis, 45, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death was homicide, according to the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office, where the autopsy was performed.

Deputies responding to a report of gunfire at around 6 a.m. on June 6 found Davis lying in a parking lot near Cherry Hill Drive and West Fairmount Avenue in the North Hill Farms apartment complex. A suspect was arrested less than three hours later and is in the Oakland County Jail.

Criminal charges are pending and could be announced as early as Wednesday, according to the sheriff’s office.

The victim and suspect reportedly had an argument prior to the shooting.

Sheriff Mike Bouchard said 26 shell casings were recovered from the scene.

A community gathering in Davis’ honor is planned for this Saturday, June 11 beginning at 4 p.m. at Cherry Hill Drive and Fairmount Avenue in the North Hill Farms complex. The event will include a balloon release, prayer vigil and words of encouragement for Davis’ family. Guests are asked to arrive by 3:45 p.m.
