A Nebraska man and woman have pled guilty to charges on Monday regarding the break-in and theft from a rural Pilger residence in the Fall of 2021.

Both Carl Epley, 35, of Fremont and Jennifer Oswald, 41, of Beemer, pled guilty to the theft at their hearing in the Stanton County District Court.

Both were arrested following an investigation by the Stanton County Sheriff’s office. Sheriff Mike Unger reports that officers discovered missing firearms and several possessions taken from the Pilger residence. After questioning, police recovered most of the stolen property.

Epley pled guilty to theft and possession of a firearm by a felon. Oswald also pled guilty to theft. Both will be sentenced later this summer, and Epley remains in jail.
