Charlie Coyle guest speaker for Seacoast High School Sports Awards June 20 at The Music Hall

The Seacoast High School Sports Awards will be held June 20 at The Music Hall.

Seacoast Media Group is proud to announce Charlie Coyle as the guest speaker at the 2022 Seacoast High School Sports Awards at 7:30 on June 20 at The Music Hall. The show is produced with support from Piscataqua Savings Bank and Mass General Brigham Sports Medicine at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.  

More than 200 high school athletes from across the Seacoast area will be honored. The show will also name players of the year for more than 20 sports and include several major awards, including overall Players of the Year, Teams of the Year, Coaches of the Year and a Courage Award.  

“I’m honored to host the Seacoast High School Sports Awards this year," said Coyle, a forward with the Boston Bruins. “These student athletes never cease to amaze me with their hard work and dedication, and I'm proud to be a part of recognizing and honoring their accomplishments." 

Charlie Coyle will be the guest speaker at the Seacoast High School Sports Awards Monday at The Music Hall in Portsmouth. The event starts at 7:30 p.m. with the doors opening at 6:30 p.m.

Coyle scored 16 goals with 28 assists this past season for the Boston Bruins, with two more in their seven-game first-round playoff series loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. Coyle, a native of Weymouth, Mass., has spent the past four seasons in Boston after being traded from Minnesota, where he started his NHL career in 2013. Coyle, who also played at Boston University, was a first-round draft pick in 2010. 

"We're glad to have Charlie Coyle with us to honor the great student-athletes at The Music Hall," Seacoast Media Group sports editor Jay Pinsonnault said. "Not only is Charlie a tremendous player the Bruins, but he's a Massachusetts kid who chased his dreams and ended up playing for his hometown team in the NHL. We're looking forward to hearing about his journey from Weymouth, Mass, to Boston University, and, now to the Boston Bruins." 

Coyle joins Danny Amendola, Pedro Martinez and Paul Pierce as guest speakers for this event which began in 2017..
