Late-night drivers on Interstate 80 in the area of Emigrant Pass will need to look for detours as road work is set to shut down traffic in both directions later this month.

An overnight closure of I-80 will be in effect June 18 as the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) continues a construction project to create truck climbing lanes.

The bridge over the I-80 Emigrant Pass will be demolished and replaced with a wider bridge for the future truck climbing lane.

Traffic on I-80 will be shut down in both directions between Battle Mountain and Carlin on June 18 from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on June 19.

Motorists are encouraged to avoid I-80 during this time or use alternative routes.
