On Saturday June 4th, 2022, the Hickman County Sheriff’s Office The Kentucky State Police, Graves County Sheriff’s Office, McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, and Carlisle County Sheriff’s Office was involved in a pursuit of Victor Burgess (46) of Fancy Farm.

Mr. Burgess had active warrants for Fleeing and Evading from a previous pursuit. The pursuit led officers onto State Highway 307 in Carlisle County. Mr. Burgess wrecked the 2004 Honda Motorcycle he was operating north of County Road 1141 on KY 307. He then fled on foot into a wooded area.

The Kentucky State Police, Graves County Sheriff’s Office, McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, and Carlisle County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the area to begin searching for Mr. Burgess. McCracken County Sheriff’s Office responded with a drone to attempt to locate the fleeing suspect.
While searching the area Sgt. Edwards of the Graves County Sheriff’s Office located a vehicle operated by Courtney Burgess (24), the daughter of Victor Burgess. The vehicle that Ms. Burgess was operating had a cancelled registration for failure to maintain insurance. The Carlisle County Sheriff’s Office impounded the vehicle for No Insurance and Cancelled Registration. A search of the vehicle yielded marijuana, methamphetamine, and a marijuana pipe.
Courtney Burgess was sentenced to 3 years’ probation on May 19th, 2022, for charges of Possession of Marijauna, Possession of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Those charges stemmed from a traffic stop earlier this year by Kentucky State Police in the Arlington area. She was stopped for speeding and cited for that traffic offense and for No Insurance. The speeding charge resulted in a fine and the insurance charge was dismissed.
She was charged yesterday by the Carlisle County Sheriff’s Office with No Registration, No Insurance, Possession of Marijauna, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) 2nd Offense. She was transported to the McCracken County Jail where she was later released with no bond.
After several hours of searching Mr. Burgess was located back at his residence in Hickman County. He was arrested by the Hickman County Sheriff’s Office without further incident on the warrant and additional charges. He was then brought to the Carlisle County Sheriff’s Office where he was charged with Fleeing and Evading Police 1st in a Vehicle, Fleeing and Evading 1st on Foot, and Wanton Endangerment for the offenses committed in Carlisle County. He was then transported to the Ballard County Jail where he remains at the time of this press release.
All suspects charges are to be considered innocent until found guilty in court.
