Summer concert scene: Andrea Bocelli, Kendrick Lamar, Vince Gill and more coming to OKC

School's out, the calendar has flipped to June, and the central Oklahoma concert scene is heating up. 

From the Oklahoma debut of esteemed Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli to homecoming shows for Sooner State musical heroes Vince Gill and BRONCHO, here are some of our top picks for OKC concertgoers this summer.

Oklahoma City Philharmonic's 'American Gold' 

8 p.m. June 9, Civic Center Music Hall 

The OKC orchestra finally gets to perform the Classics program it planned for February's Black History Month and delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Featuring the Ambassadors' Concert Choir and Canterbury Voices, the program will include Duke Ellington’s tone poem "Harlem," Rosephanye Powell’s "The Cry of Jeremiah" and Antonín Dvorak’s "New World Symphony."

The Grammy-nominated country band is touring in support of its new album "The Last Resort: Greetings From."

Founded in New York in 1981, the group is one of the original American third-wave ska bands.
