The goal for the New England Patriots this offseason was to bring in some weapons to help Mac Jones in his development. They accomplished that goal, acquiring DeVante Parker from the Miami Dolphins.

Parker provides Jones with a big-bodied receiver capable of winning downfield, possessing the tools to be a legitimate No. 1 option. Having him in the fold will help push guys like Jakobi Meyers, Kendrick Bourne and Nelson Agholor into complementary roles that are more fitting for them.

But, there is still a chance that New England could look to add another pass catcher to the mix. When people discuss potential landing spots for free agents Odell Beckham Jr. and Julio Jones, the Patriots are mentioned as a potential landing spot.

With that in mind, a list of potential trade targets was put together at ClutchPoints that New England could look into acquiring to round out their roster. It was focused on wide receivers and two of the names mentioned were Terry McLaurin and D.K. Metcalf.

Both players are seeking long-term deals as they have cemented themselves as true No. 1 receivers and are out-performing their current contracts. Both the Washington Commanders and Seattle Seahawks will do whatever they can to keep their star receivers, so acquiring them in a trade would prove difficult for the Patriots.

There is nothing wrong with inquiring about McLaurin and Metcalf. A phone call never hurt anyone, but the conversation will likely be short. It would be harder to imagine the Commanders trading McLaurin as they are looking to move up the standings in the NFC East this season.

Metcalf would seemingly have a better chance of being traded as the Seahawks are in a bit of a rebuild after trading Russell Wilson and releasing Bobby Wagner. However, Metcalf sounds like he wants to remain in Seattle and the organization would certainly love to have him in the fold for the future.
