Youssoufa Moukoko is remaining coy on his Borussia Dortmund future with just one year left on his current contract.

Youssoufa Moukoko’s future at Borussia Dortmund has come under a bit of doubt in recent months. It was reported in March that the 17 year old wants to leave the club due to a lack of playing time. And it remains to be seen what his plans are for the future.

Moukoko was asked about his future by WAZ, but did not want to comment on it. “I don’t want to comment on that,” the highly rated striker said.

Borussia Dortmund have made it clear that they want to extend Moukoko’s contract. And CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke claimed recently that that there is a decent chance of reaching an agreement over an extension. But ultimately the decision rests in the striker’s hands, and Dortmund may well be forced to sell him this summer if an agreement over a new contract cannot be reached in the coming weeks.

Moukoko is coming off a difficult first full season in professional football. The Germany U-21s international struggled with a number of injuries this season, and was limited to just 22 appearances across all competitions as a result. He scored two goals for Borussia Dortmund, including the winner against Hertha Berlin on the final day of the season.

Moukoko was on target again on Friday as he helped the Germany U-21s secure their place in next year’s U-21 European Championship. He will be looking to keep his scoring run going on Tuesday as the Germany U-21s go up against Poland.
