McCutcheon senior Chloe Chicoine was among 12 players selected to the United States U21 women's national volleyball team.

Chloe Chicoine and Raven Colvin are future college volleyball teammates.

The duo will get a head start after both were selected to the United States women's U21 national team at the Pan Am Cup in La Paz, Mexico, from June 7-12.

Colvin, a sophomore middle blocker at Purdue, and Chicoine, a Purdue recruit entering her senior year at McCutcheon High School, are among the 12-player roster announced on Saturday from a training team of 20 that has been working out in Louisiana.

Colvin, an Indianapolis native, is coming off her first season of college volleyball where she helped the Boilermakers advance to the Elite Eight and was named to the Big Ten's All-Freshman after averaging 1.23 blocks and 1.76 kills per set.

This is Colvin's first age group national team selection.

Purdue middle blocker Raven Colvin (7) hits the ball in the first set during a first round match of the NCAA Div I Women's Volleyball Championships, Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021 in West Lafayette, Ind.

Chicoine competed with the U18 national team in September that won a bronze medal at the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball world championships in Durango, Mexico.

Chicoine was named Indiana's Gatorade Volleyball Player of the Year after leading McCutcheon to its first volleyball state championship. Originally committed to Penn State, Chicoine verbally committed to Purdue in February. Chicoine is the youngest player on the U21 roster as the only one still in high school.
