After missing three games last week due to a left adductor strain, Cody Bellinger returned to the Los Angeles Dodgers lineup for the series opener against the New York Mets.

The 2019 National League MVP went 0-for-4 but bounced back on Friday with his sixth home run of the season. “Yeah, adductor’s good, my legs are good, swing’s feeling good, feeling quiet,” Bellinger answered when asked if he is back to full health.

“And you know, just put in the work. And then once the game comes, just focus in on getting the job done.”

Bellinger worked on his swing throughout Spring Training and is pleased with its current state. “It’s been feeling good,” he said.

“And just some balls haven’t fallen and sometimes I’m chasing. And the combination of that, it’s tough. So focusing on staying within myself and letting the game come to me and just doing all the little things.”

As Bellinger continues to tinker with his swing, he believes is close to finding a happy medium. “Yeah, most definitely,” Bellinger began.

“I think every day, just seeing pitches every day, you can kind of tinker with the right things and what you think is going to work, and just focusing on barreling up the baseballs.”

Bellinger enjoying ‘Club Dub’ atmosphere with Mookie Betts as DJ

The Dodgers recently unveiled a new celebration after every win, dubbed “Club Dub,” in which the clubhouse is transformed into a nightclub, complete with turntables, fog machines and strobe lights.

“Most definitely not me,” Bellinger answered when asked if he came up with the idea. “This is Mookie’s setup. That was a little pregame for Mookie, that’s why we got a dub. It was going hard. He was teaching J.T. J.T.’s got a lot to learn.”
