Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham Reaffirms Commitment To End Gun Violence In New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE — Today, on National Gun Violence Awareness Day, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham honors victims and reaffirms her commitment to reducing gun violence in New Mexico communities.

National Gun Violence Awareness Day also marks the beginning of Wear Orange Weekend, a national advocacy weekend focused on drawing attention to the severity and pervasiveness of gun violence in our country.

“Gov. Lujan Grisham has been a lifelong advocate for gun violence prevention,” said New Mexicans for Michelle Communications Director Kendall Witmer. ­Throughout her time in office she has brought Republicans and Democrats together to deliver meaningful legislation to reduce and prevent gun violence. In her second term, Governor Lujan Grisham will continue to prioritize the safety of New Mexicans and keep firearms out of the hands of dangerous individuals.”
