BEN HILL COUNTY, Ga. (WGXA) -- The second man convicted of concealing Tara Grinstead's death has been indicted in a different county in connection to the case.
Ryan Duke was acquitted of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and burglary in Irwin County in a May 2022 trial.
Jurors found him guilty only of concealing the high school teacher's death and sentenced him to 10 years in prison. Grinstead vanished in 2005.
The new indictment, filed in Ben Hill County, charges Duke with:
- Concealing the death of another
- Hindering the apprehension or punishment of a criminal
- Concealment of facts (two counts)
- Tampering with evidence (two counts)
In 2019, another defendant, Bo Dukes, was also convicted of concealing her death and was sentenced to 25 years in prison. Dukes was additionally found guilty of two counts of making a false statement and hindering the arrest of a criminal.
