Arkansas State Police is asking for the public's help in locating the suspect of a hit-and-run crash that left a 32-year-old Conway County man dead.
According to ASP, Travis Frank Sponer was riding a bicycle along the northbound lane of Arkansas Highway 9 on the night of May 16.
Just after midnight on May 17, Sponer was struck from the rear by a northbound vehicle and the impact of the crash sent his body into a ditch alongside the highway, officials said.
Authorities said investigators with the highway patrol and criminal investigation division believe the vehicle that hit Sponer was a 2012-2022 dark red, maroon, or burgundy, Dodge Ram pick-up truck.
Police also said there is a possibility that the truck has considerable damage to the front passenger side, particularly around the headlight.
Anyone with information about this deadly crash, knows of a vehicle matching the description of the Dodge pick-up truck, or has seen a truck with damage as described, is urged to contact the Arkansas State Police, Troop J Headquarters in Clarksville at 479-754-3096.
